MCOT – It’s My Cup of Tea!

I love tea! Green tea, white tea, black tea, herbal tea and even “red tea”, that we call Rooïbos. I drink tea everyday!

While I buy mostly loose-leaf tea, I get tempted sometimes by some wonderful tea bags! That’s what happened to me recently.

I am already a big fan on My Cup of Tea (MCOT), a little tea shop from Montreal that also sells their products online. The owners are young and hip and they are trying to jazz up and democratize the tea culture. They have a new line called Santhé, which are 100% herbal teas, with names like Workaholic, Shopaholic, Fashion Icon and Insomniacs, how could you resist? I know I could not. While I am writing these lines, I am drinking Workaholic which is made with dry ginger and lemon peels. It smells so good in my office! Two plus for this new line: first, you can drink it anytime of the day, as herbal tea will not affect your sleep and second, tea bags are easier to use for a tea-on-the-go, while commuting to work or taking an afternoon break at the office.

MCOT also created a new line of tea which uses Sakura. Sakura means cherry blossoms in japanese. They are my second favourite at the moment. While my friend Kim Vallée, from At Home with Kim is traveling to Japan at the moment, enjoying the cherry blossoms festival, I feel that a single cup of the Sakura tea makes me travel a little bit too, even if it just in my mind.

    My recent tea discovery, white tea: Bai Hao Yin Zhen. It’s a loose leaf tea available from a few tea purveyors in Montreal.
