Freezer Compost Bin for “Ecolo-foodies”

A lot of foodies are strong defenders of the Slow Food Movement philosophy. It’s great to encourage organic farming, buying local products, but the reality is that for many of us, living in an apartment makes it a little harder to do everything right. What if we want to do some rooftop or container gardening and make our own compost? I found a solution that should help us solve this problem. We can compost right from our place without having to deal with the odors of rotting organic scrap or unwanted visits from rodents on our balcony. What’s the secret? by keeping the container in the freezer. Brilliant! Now we have no excuse not to compost. It’s also great if we live in a house and want to save couple of trips to the composter.

The freezer compost bin was designed by Salvatore Fuccillo & Jennifer MacEwan. It is made of silicon and can hold up to 3.5 liters of organic scrap, enough for couple of days even with a big family. Do you compost? if so, what method do you use if you live in a condo or an apartment?
