Espadrilles et Champagne: A girls’ getaway in France

Espadrilles et Champagne is a fantastic initiative from Atout France (French Tourism Office) to let us discover different areas of France through the eyes of three French Canadian girls. The translation,  “Sneakers and Champagne”, is a no nonsense approach to traveling with three girls that are as bubbly as champagne. These super woman are social media power users and foodies aficionadas that we all want to have as friends! Well, I am lucky they are also part of my own little world :-)

Their 3-week trip will bring them to Paris, Versailles, Dijon, Grenoble, Nantes, Rennes and Le Havre.

You can follow their adventures through their blog (in French only). It’s almost like being there with them, except that there are the ones sampling all that good food!

Here are my 5  favourite posts so far:

  • Acide comme un macaron (transl: Acid like a Macaron) – a funky little macarons shop in Paris (Yes, they also went to the famous Ladurée and Pierre Hermé!)
  • Ze Kitchen Galerie, “Ze” trendy restaurant in Paris right now!
  • Choco-Therapie de filles à Paris (transl: Girls Chocolate Therapy in Paris) – A “sweet-looking” cooking class where they learn how to make chocolate delicacies
  • Quels types de buveuses de vin sommes-nous? (transl: What type of wine drinkers are we?) – they met with the co-author of the book Dis-moi qui tu es… je te dirai quel vin boire written by Linda Grabe and Valérie from Lescure (Éditions Solar, 2007).
  • Nos premières heures à Versailles (transl: Our first hours in Versailles) – They describe a fantastic meal they had at LM Café Pullman. I have to confess, I am a little bit envious ;-)
